Kai Trump can count on numerous high-profile backers when she makes her professional golf debut on Thursday.
The 18-year-old athlete, who happens to be related to Donald Trump, obtained a special exemption to compete at Florida's Annika event in Florida.
The former president, an avid golfer, possesses numerous international courses and regularly matches against his granddaughter.
"He's pretty good. I can't reveal details but we play some close matches," she revealed.
The golfer shared that Trump, who won't be present, counseled her: "Just avoid anxiety."
"He practically told me to compete and have fun," she added.
"To me, he's just a normal grandpa. He can't make it this weekend. He's busy with presidential duties, making him rather occupied."
While still amateur, Kai has competed in only three events this year and maintains position 461 in the American Junior Golf Association listings.
However she can receive tips from golf legend, in a relationship with Vanessa.
"He represents the top athlete globally," the young golfer said.
"Additionally, he's a superior individual. He advised me to compete, enjoy myself, adapting to the flow."
She'll challenge multiple most prominent players in professional golf at the Annika, featuring world number two Nelly Korda, England's golfer Hull, Lexi Thompson and last year's winner champion Vu.
The LPGA commented that Kai's presence exposes the sport to new audiences, particularly reaching younger fans.
The social media influencer has substantial online presence and has started an exclusive apparel and wellness label.
Her first tee time at 5:30 PM GMT.
