Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected pepper spray caused injuries at the UK's busiest airport.

Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, have both been charged with two counts of robbery and two counts of using a harmful chemical, as confirmed by court officials.

The charges follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their luggage stolen after getting out of a car park lift, authorities reported.

A three-year-old girl was one of the people hurt during the incident. Several persons required hospital care and were later discharged.

This event – which authorities stated was isolated and deemed non-terroristic – resulted in train delays and the partial closure of the main airport road tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
